norman The Author Norman Vance is sixty years old with a wife and one son. He is the owner of Homestead Publishing based in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Norm published a tourism magazine for Southwest Colorado for sixteen years during the 1980s and 1990s. He became interested in the Native American history of the area when writing articles about the Chimney Rock Pueblo Archaeological Area near his home of Pagosa Springs. When doing research he noticed there was a huge amount of material featuring the ruin sites and very little that attempted to display how the Anasazi might have appeared when alive. He then traveled the entire southwest researching, making photographs and doing sketch art with the idea of filling that void in the popular material. Using Adobe Photoshop, many images were placed in the same artwork. Many images contain views of real pottery, artifacts and pueblos. The entire publication is in vibrant color and printed on glossy paper in a large 11x13 inch format.
